Thrilling Game Show

Back to the fifth, the long-awaited Thailand Game Show 2011 (TGS 2011) promises to be bigger than ever, because it comes in all kinds of games and fun activities for all players – youth and adults. The event will be held at the Queen Sirikit Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, 7 to 9 January, daily from 10 to 20.

Hosted by Show No Limit and Co. Comp news magazine player under the concept of “Power Up + Move to the next level”, TGS 2011 brings together all the leading game developers plan to offer a wide range of play the latest games and gadgets, including online games, console games, Thai games, social networking and games for mobile phones at special prices.

This is also an opportunity for small Thai game developers to showcase their work, make presentations, seek venture capital or partnerships and even discuss their dream projects with gamers and investors at the Dream Zone.

Among the highlight activities are the E-Sports competition at the Kingston Zone Zean Game. Narrated by famous show hosts Uncle Ting Hardcore and Uncle Toi Chambe, the tournament features such games as Winning Eleven 2011 (PS2), WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2011 (PS3), Kinect Adventure (Xbox360), Super Street Fighter IV (PS3), Prince of Persia (PC), as well as a universal world-class tournament, the Panda Cloud Antivirus Presents StarCraft II Thailand Game Show 2011 Championship.

The WellcoM Android Game Arena, meanwhile, offers competitions and game development prizes worth more than 100,000 baht for mobile applications using Android systems. For the first time in Thailand, Farm Construction offers gamers an opportunity to construct the best farm in FarmVille, a social network game that has enjoyed widespread fame around the world.

Younger visitors should not miss Anime No Limit Live # 2 Presented by Gview: JAM Project Live in Bangkok, the Bangkok debut cartoon concert featuring anime music by JAM Project, the largest cartoon band in Japan. Founded in 2000, the group comprises five vocal artists – each of whom is famous for his or her own solo performances of Japanese theme songs.

The one-show-only concert will take place at the Ballroom on Sat, Jan 8 at 6pm. Tickets cost 1,500 baht (standing) and 4,000 baht (VIP) and can be purchased from Thaiticketmajor booths (tel 02-262-3456 or visit http://www. thaiticketmajor.com).

Another colourful activity at the event will be the Koh Kae Cosplay Contest, with 200,000 baht prize money up for grabs for the cosplayers. The competition is divided into many categories – male, female, team, robot, monster, children and Red Plate.

The three-day event will also offer visitors their first chance to try many kinds of foods and snacks inspired by famous games and cartoons. The edible creations are available at the Game and Cartoon Food Fair zone. All visitors can also witness the prestigious Compgamer Awards, regarded as the Academy Awards for game industry.

There will be a total of 12 awards for the best online games, Thailand, player, the game’s official website, social activity, booth games, gaming services provider, lead actor, lead actress and the MMORPG Game most popular online, the most popular online casual games and play as expected. Admission fees vary depending on the types of games that will join in each area, which charges between 50 and 150 baht. However, there are many ways to get free tickets.
