The global economic crisis has caused many videogame developers to close up shop – Factor 5, Free Radical, and Pandemic are just a few of the bigger one. Perhaps one of the most tragic shutdowns came last May, though, when the prolific PC developer 3D Realms shut down, perhaps known best as the creators of the Duke Nukem franchise.
Though we still have no idea what’s going to happen with Duke Nukem Forever, Duke’s creator George Broussard has recently come out and started answering some questions from the fans. So of course, what was one of the first questions? 360 or PS3.
“I prefer the 360 due to Xbox Live and the unified achievement system,” Broussard replied. “I think it’s a better end user experience.”
He was quick to point out, though, that he is a fan of the PS3 as well, saying “I play the big exclusives on PS3 and it’s a mighty find(sic) system.”
Broussard is currently fighting a legal battle against Take Two Interactive in regards to Duke Nukem Forever. Last December, Apogee CEO Scott Miller said they were still planning on finishing the title by enlisting the help of external development studios.
